Sovereign Souls

Sovereign Souls is a guild based upon the true ideals of nobility. We treat all fairly and the guild as our family. The purpose of this guild is to ensure that our members have access to many quests which require assistance. We wish for people to have the an enjoyable time adventuring in Norath, without the stress that the game often brings.

General Codes of Conduct:

1.) We do not discriminate based upon race, class, deity (or lack thereof), or sexual orientation. All are welcome members into Sovereign Souls.

2.) We do not Kill Steal or Train people, as not only are these against Verant ToS policy, they are also activities which are beneath civilized beings.

3.) We attempt to be kind and polite to all, realizing that they may not always be to us. Random Acts of Kindness are encouraged.

4.) Try to treat others as you would wish to be treated. Remember, this is just a game.

Policies:

Quests - Sovereign Souls will have a quest day scheduled once a week for those quests that individuals need guild assistance with. Although attendance is not mandatory, it is encouraged. Quests are scheduled at least one week in advance with the Marshall (who is the Officer than handles the quests) and are to be thoroughly researched by both the officer and the individual. The officer has final say on whether or not a quest is done on that given day.

Multiple quests may be scheduled on Quest Day. The order will be determined by the Marshall and a set time limit given to the quest.

The Marshall has the option of calling off or delaying the quest if:

1. He/she feels the levels or manpower are not appropriate for the quest.

2. The spawnsite is already taken.

3. The quest was incomplete or improper information was researched and we have no way to achieve the goal.

The officers agree that this quest at this time is inappropriate.

The individual who the quest is for has not researched the quest.

Items from Guild Quests: Items from quests are property of the guild unless otherwise stated. The member who has the item is merely using that item. If at any time, the member can not use the item, it is returned to the guild. At that time, it is given to another guild member, or sold for guild funds.

Exceptions to this rule are no-drop items.

Guild Quest: A guild quest is defined as Quests schedule through the Marshall, called Guild Events and Special Events. (i.e. If the Regent calls all Sovereign Souls available to hunt the foreman’s room in Sol A, this is a special event. However, if members just so happen to be hunting in Sol A and kill the foreman, this is not.)

Faction Assistance: We realize that often to begin or end a quest, you will may need assistance in gaining faction. Faction assistance is totally voluntary as often other guild members do not wish a faction change. If you wish assistance with faction, please contact the Marshall for scheduling assistance.

Quest Item Money: Providing the money for items in a quest is the sole responsibility of the person receiving the item. (i.e., the 3250gp for Journeyman Boots).

Corpse Retrieval:

As a member of the guild, if all other options are exhausted you may ask for assistance in CR. Although a guild mate will not be able to assist you in all circumstances, they are required to help you to the best of their ability if the request is reasonable. Keep in mind, people play the game for enjoyment, and running through 10 zones to help you retrieve a corpse may be unfeasible at the time.

Corpse retrieval may be delayed if there are not sufficient players of proper level or skill, or if it is not feasible at that time. Remember that if you are in a group, the group has primary responsibility for retrieval.

Guild Funds:

Guild funds accrue from items sold that the guild can no longer use. These funds are to be used to assist guild members to help others in quests and for guild oriented events. (i.e. If your quest for Journeyman boots requires that guild members help and they all had to pay for a SoW, then that money (if available) would be reimbursed from guild funds).

Keep in mind, guild funds are not to be used by the person the quest is for. No monetary or item assistance will come from the guild funds. The Questor is responsible for all money and items for their own quest.

The Loot:

This is one of the hardest areas to dictate. However, Sovereign Souls has tried to make this as fair an impartial as possible. For a group that is not full Sovereign Souls, you of course must follow your own personal guidelines set by that group.

We wish loot to benefit all members of the Sovereign Souls, not just a few. Therefore seniority can not be used as an issue in loot distribution. This would lead to certain people always attaining the loot, while others worked just as hard.

Money - Monetary loot distribution is up to the group. Sovereign Souls would suggest that one person loot all monies and equally split it among members at the end of the night. At a guild event, an officer shall loot all monies and split equal shares to all members present at the event. Any leftover monies shall be put into the guild fund for further guild use. Members may request the total in the guild fund from the Steward. The Steward has 24 hours to send a list to the member requesting it.

Items - We wish for items to go to the people who need them the most. This is often difficult, since often more than one person needs the item. So we have attempted to make it as fair and impartial as possible. Keep in mind, use your best judgment in most of these matters.

1.) If the item can be used by that class/race/deity combination, then the members have a right to be included in the lotto for said item. All lotto items are the sole property of the person who won the item.

2.) Members have the right to call (no more than once per week) a Need Item. Before the item is rolled for, the member must state that they specifically need the item for their character to wear. At that time, unless there is more than one person that uses their Need Item, they receive the item in question. The item then becomes the property of the guild, with that person as it’s user. When the item is no longer in use by that guild member, it is to be returned to the guild fund to be either sold or distributed among the guild. (The exception being a no drop item). To encourage people to not take advantage of the Need Item rule, the winner must give up whatever they are have in that particular slot to be lotto among the group that could have used the item to begin with.

3.) If two or more people call a Need Item, a lotto between those people is held. The person who loses has not used their Need Item for that week.

4) Groups are required to report Need Item winners to the Steward so it may be entered upon the guild’s treasury report.

Reimbursement for components: At guild events, we will of course try to reimburse those who cast spells that use components. However, this is not always possible. We realize that at higher levels, spell components can cost 10pp – 150pp each. Therefore, keep in mind that any spell which uses a component is not required to be cast upon a person. This includes both guild events and groups. (i.e. If you wish to make sure you have a Symbol of Transel cast on you, please supply the cleric with a cats eye agate). If you wish to be reimbursed for your components, please check with the Steward for available reimbursement funds.

GUILD MEMBERSHIP:

Currently, a person must be sponsored by a guild member and must interview with the Warders and/or Officers. Five votes are required to gain entry into the guild as a recruit. A two week trial (probation) is giving to those that did recieve 5 votes and are guilded.

Due to the adult content and nature of this guild, the person being considered must be at least 20 years of age to join Sovereign Souls. Special consideration may be given if seven officers agree to allow a younger person (18 or 19 only) to enter. Abosultely no consideration will be given to anyone under 18 years of age.

New Members: New members are considered recruits for the first two weeks. They have no voting rights, sponsorship rights or Need Item rights.

Members may not have characters in other guilds as this may lead to conflict. You are not required to have all your characters guilded if you do not wish them to be.

Guild Removal: Sometimes a person just does not work out in a certain guild. You may find that your goals do not match that of the guild.

Self Removal: If you chose to guild remove yourself, you have 24 hours to be reinstated as a guild member. After that time, you must be re-sponsored and voted in as a new member. If you remove yourself from the guild, you are required to return all guild property.

Forcible Removal: Guild membership my only be revoked with a full vote of the officers. A temporary removal by an officer may be instituted in emergency issues. The officers will then hold a review of that person’s status within 24 hours.
